Elements of an Intimate Dinner Party

How often do you attend a dinner party and the hostess is stress free? The hostess is mingling and making sure the guest is having a great time.  The truth is creating an awesome dinner party can be over whelming and frustrating but with key elements a huge success.

One of my favorite hobbies is planning an intimate dinner parties. Here are a few of my tips to making your next dinner party a success and having your guest reminiscing about it for years to come.

Mood

It’s essential you determine and create the mood/atmosphere for the dinner party. First impressions are vital from awesome curb appeal to a beautiful wreath on your door. As your guests arrive greet them with a warm and inviting fragrance at the door. I would also suggest adjusting the lighting depending on the time of day. Candles are a simple way to create a soft and welcoming mood for your dinner party. Keep in mind; it is all about the details.

Breathtaking Tablescape
Create a lavish table with layers of table linens, overlays, charger plates, and runners. Fresh flowers and your favorite china will set off any table display, explore by mixing different china patterns. The secret to creating a lavish table is incorporating a minimum of three types of textures on your table and variations of heights with flowers & candles.
Unforgettable Menu
One of the highlights of any great dinner party is an awesome menu. I like starting off with an appetizer as the guest are arriving. The goal is to keep the appetizer and dessert simple but wow your guest with an out of the box entrée.
Guest List
The key to a great guest list is …….less is more!

Color Trends 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR…Home Décor Color Trends for 2015
Super excited about the New Year! What better way to start off the New Year than with the latest Color Trends for 2015.

I recently had an opportunity to attend a seminar on PPG Paints Colors for 2015. PPG is forecasting warm tones that can be found in nature; blues, greens, browns, whites, and yellows. The PPG Color of the year is Blue Paisley. “We anticipate our 2015 Color of the Year to play a prominent role in the home décor trends for the coming year as homeowners look to positively influence their lives and decisions with vibrant colors. With its bohemian flare and global ties, Blue Paisley can be paired with a charming, rich yellow-gold, or used as an accent wall, pulling in some mystery with black, gray and white.”
